Attendance
Regular, on-time attendance at school is directly related to student success. We want to work with families to ensure we are getting their children to school on time each day.
The State Accreditation Standards require the District to maintain excellent daily attendance. Students who fall below the 95% level may be asked to make up time to meet the standards. Students who are not in school miss essential information and life skills that can limit their success in school and later in the workplace. Developing good attendance habits is a primary concern for our schools and the state of Missouri.
Acceptable absences are defined in Board Policy as extenuating circumstances, such as severe illness and/or injury; religious observances; or visits with a parent or legal guardian who is an active duty member of the military who has been called to duty for, is on leave from or is immediately returned from deployment to a combat zone or combat support posting, with permission of the superintendent or designee.
Please be sure to call the school office each day your child will be absent within the first hour of the school day. We strive to keep communication open with families to positively impact student attendance and education.
