Shelley Tiedeman Named the Next Mill Creek Upper Elementary School Principal

During its closed session, the Board of Education approved Shelley Tiedeman as the next Mill Creek Upper Elementary School Principal.

Mrs. Tiedeman follows Mr. Dan Erholtz, who is retiring at the end of the 2024-25 school year after serving as Mill Creek Upper Elementary School Principal for 6 years.

Mrs. Tiedeman has been in education for 17 years. She started her career as a teacher in Colorado, before serving as an assistant principal and math teacher for Liberal School District in Kansas. While in Kansas, she earned the Teacher of the Year award for the 2013-14 school year. She came to Belton in 2019 as a math teacher at Belton High School. In 2022, she earned the Jon Ferguson Excellence in Teaching Award, and she was a Teacher of the Year finalist in 2021-22. Mrs. Tiedeman is serving as Mill Creek Upper Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2024-25 school year.

She looks forward to continuing to work with the amazing teachers and staff at Mill Creek Upper Elementary and supporting students in their education.

Mrs. Tiedeman plans to begin working toward her doctoral degree from Baker University in 2025. She earned her master’s degrees from Fort Hays State University and Western Governers University. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
