Dr. Bryon Cecil Named the Next Belton Middle School Principal

During its closed session, the Board of Education approved Dr. Bryon Cecil as the next Belton Middle School Principal.

During its closed session, the Board of Education approved Dr. Bryon Cecil as the next Belton Middle School Principal.

Dr. Cecil is following Jennifer Paschall, who is retiring at the end of the 2024-25 school year after serving as BMS principal for 4 years.

Dr. Cecil has been in education for 14 years. He began his career teaching middle school social studies in the Drexel R-IV School District. He taught high school mathematics in the Archie R-V School District and then served as Archie High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. Dr. Cecil taught Algebra I in the Freshman Academy in the Belton School District for two years and he has served as @Belton High School Assistant Principal and overseen the Freshman Academy for the last four years. He was instrumental in opening the Freshman Academy at Belton High School and helped celebrate the first Academies of Belton graduating class.

“I love the Belton School District and I am looking forward to my transition to Belton Middle School as the new head principal,” says Dr. Cecil. “The middle school has accomplished so much and I am eager to continue this tradition while helping to create authentic and relevant educational experiences for our students. I look forward to building strong relationships with the students, staff and families of Belton Middle School.”

Dr. Cecil earned his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Baker University. He earned his master’s degree from University of Central Missouri and he has a bachelor’s degree from Ottawa University.
