How the no charge/limited charge policy works:

• Payment methods for food service products. Food items are to be paid by cash, check, or from funds already deposited in meal accounts. Deposits can be made through Parent Portal or through your student’s school.
• A la carte items may not be charged (cost must be covered by funds in person’s account, cash or check).
• Secondary students (grades 9 – 12) are not permitted to charge. Instead, they will receive a meal at no charge, which includes a sandwich, milk, and unlimited fruits and vegetables.
• Middle School students (grades 7 – 8) may charge up to $6.50 for reimbursable meals. If a child reaches the charge limit, we will notify their parents/guardians via email once a week. In this email, we will remind parents/guardians of the $6.50 charge limit and that their child can no longer make charges to their account. Instead, they will receive a meal at no charge, which includes a sandwich, milk, and unlimited fruits and vegetables.
• Early Childhood and Elementary students (PreK – 6) may charge up to $15.50 for reimbursable meals. If a child reaches the charge limit, we will notify their parents/guardians via email once a week. In this email, we will remind parents/guardians of the $15.50 charge limit and that their child can no longer make charges to their account. Instead, they will receive a meal at no charge, which includes a sandwich, milk, and unlimited fruits and vegetables.
• Students at the charge limit may pay cash for food items. If your student(s) has reached the charge limit, they will not be permitted any further charge until their account is below the specified limit.

We regularly send home meal-payment envelopes with students who are near or at negative meal balances, which include educational benefit applications. 

Students eligible for free meals

• Students who have been approved for free meals may always receive full breakfasts and lunches without charge, however, no a la carte items will be provided without payment.

Students eligible for reduced-price meals

• For students who have been approved for reduced-price meals but have reached the specified charge limit, will receive replacement meals only until sufficient payment has been made.

Please follow these instructions to add money to your child's account. 

The sibling balance transfer feature allows parents at your district to quickly and conveniently move funds from one student's meal account to another.

From the MySchoolBucks website:

1. Log in and click Meal Accounts > Request Balance Transfer.
2. Choose which student you'd like to transfer the funds from.
3. Choose which student you'd like to transfer the funds to.
4. Enter the amount you'd like to transfer and click Continue.
5. Review your request and click Complete Transfer.

Transferred funds will appear in the requested student's meal account within one hour after the next sync between your POS and MySchoolBucks (typically 3-4 hours).  Although, this may vary based on your district's setup.

From the MySchoolBucks mobile app (Version 10.0 or higher):

Parents can also utilize this feature on-the-go from the mobile app:

1. Log in to the mobile app click the menu icon in the upper left of your screen.
2. Choose which student you'd like to transfer the funds from.
3. Choose which student you'd like to transfer the funds to.
4. Enter the amount you'd like to transfer and click Confirm.
