Spectator Guidelines for Activities: Fall 2020

  • After a vote was finalized on Monday, August 24, 2020, the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference made the determination to allow students to participate in extracurricular activities with safety guidelines, limitations, and precautions in place. The restrictions may vary by district and by county, so please check this page of our website before each event.

The goal of the Belton School District is to create and enforce the necessary precautions to preserve the opportunity for students to participate and “have their season” by providing a safe environment for everyone involved. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to these guidelines and restrictions.

These guidelines may change based on updated CDC, Cass County Health Department, MSHSAA, and/or KC Suburban Conference recommendations once seasons get underway and competitions begin.

*Details related to events in the BMS Forum and BHS Performing Arts Center will be released at a later date.

    • Spectators will be expected to sit in lawn chairs or stand.

Away Events (All Levels, Middle - High School)

Each host school will share their guidelines/restrictions based on their school and county health department’s recommendations/requirements. These will vary based on city, county, and district; we already know some will not be able to allow visitor spectators this season. As soon as we receive information related to away events, we will share this information on social media and our school website.

Our students have been given the privilege of playing during the pandemic. We need your help to make sure that continues by strictly abiding by the guidelines we have set forth. It is highly likely that throughout the season details regarding tickets and attendance will be subject to change. We know this news may be disappointing to many of you, and we thank you for your flexibility, patience, and understanding.

  • Physicals & Required Forms

Please advise there has been a change in regard to the MSHSAA Physical Policy. Effective immediately, all physicals are now valid for a period of two years (730 days) from the date of issuance.

Required Health Forms, however, are still required to be updated on an annual basis. High School and Middle School students wanting to participate in any MSHSAA sport must have both a valid physical and Annual Required Health Form on file in order to participate in any practice or competition.

Please turn these into the BHS or BMS Athletics Office or into their respective coach as soon as possible. No student will be able to participate without both on file.

Thanks and we look forward to a great year!
