BHS White Papers...Our "Why" Papers

  • So…. what are “White papers?”    A white paper is an authoritative report or guide to inform readers in a concise manner about a complex issue.  It presents the issuing body's philosophy/position on the matter. Furthermore, it is meant to help the reader better understand an issue, address a problem, or make a decision.

So…  why do we also refer to the BHS “White papers” as our “Why papers?”   A primary theme for the Belton High School community is “Why?”  A primary focus of ours is to seek “continuous improvement” through reviewing our “Why?”   Why, do we do what we do?  What is the purpose of a particular action, assignment, program decision, and so on?  To repeatedly ask ourselves “Why?” reminds us to be intentional and to achieve our stated mission to “prepare BHS students for their future,” we acknowledge the importance of being “purpose-driven.”

So…  why have we determined to produce the BHS “White papers?”  We intend to use these BHS “White papers” or “Why papers” to clarify some of the issues/topics which may otherwise go unnoticed or fail to be totally understood.   Again, “why?”   Simply put…  we believe wholeheartedly that should we, Belton High School, expect to achieve the level of excellence we pursue, our best opportunity is to continue to build upon the partnership and the trust we share with our parent/guardian community as well as the community at-large. We seek to accomplish this through enhanced awareness.
