The Belton School District strives to provide resources, tools, and effective teaching strategies for staff as they prepare students for thriving in the 21st century. The seamless integration of technology into lessons is important for successful learning experiences. We design effective technology-enriched lessons integrating the 4 Cs: create, communicate, collaborate, & critically think. All Things Canvas (Grades 7-12)
Canvas is Belton School District’s learning management software for grades 7-12. Students in 7th-12th grade can access assignments and resources for their classes through Canvas.Parents can create their own logins and become observers in their student’s Canvas courses. -
MasteryConnect (K-6)
MasteryConnect is used for Standards-Based Reporting (SBR) in grades K-6. If you would like more information on SBR, please contact your child’s teacher or building principal.Scores are entered in MasteryConnect and progress reports are generated and shared with parents throughout the year.Teachers also use MasteryConnect for data tracking of student progress. -
STAR (K-12)
STAR is a research-based program used in grades K-12 to test a student’s knowledge in reading and math and pinpoint areas for improvement.STAR tests are given several times throughout the year to get a closer look at a student’s progress throughout the school year.STAR Early Literacy is administered to K-2 grade students. STAR Reading and STAR Math are given to students 3rd grade and older. Any student K-2 who scores as a “probable reader” may also be administered the STAR Reading and Math assessments.STAR is also used for gauging the progress of students who have an area that needs improvement.STAR also gives teachers a prediction of how students will score on the state MAP test in the spring.
