The Belton School district is fully accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For 2003-04 and 2004-05, the district was Accredited with Distinction by the department -- the highest academic rating issued.

A "day treatment" program is operated in the district in conjunction with Ozanam.
